What is Hacktoberfest?
Hacktoberfest 2020 is a month-long virtual festival event to celebrate Open Source contributions and Open Source community which is presented by Intel, Digital Ocean and DEV. Hacktoberfest is open to everyone in our global community unmindful ofwho you are. Whether you are a student, developer, freelancer, event host or company of any scale. Yes, you can help the ever-growing community “Open Source” furthermore by making positive contributions.
Why should I contribute?
Hacktoberfest’s simple and precise objective is that “Support Open Source and earn limited edition T-shirt and swags!”. But it is not just about T-shirts or stickers and swags. It is about supporting and celebrating Open Source! By doing this, contributors give the organizations to take ideas, help and as well as suggestions from experts outside of their own teammates. Contributions helps in keeping the developers challenged and active participants.
How can I contribute?
As mentioned earlier Hacktoberfest is open to everyone. First you need to get yourself registered for Hacktoberfest 2020 website.

You can contribute to any Open Source project that is being hosted on Github.com between October 1 to October 31. It is simply means that you will find plenty of issues labelled with ‘hacktoberfest’ and start fixing them by your coding skill, documentation or even spelling fix.
To earn your cool Hacktoberfest rewards, just register to Github and make 4 valid pull requests (PRs) and this can be done to any public repository on Github. If you are a newbie, make yourself familiarize to create pull request to your first ever contribution and this is the best time to start contributing the Open Source!!
